Barletta is the youngest yard in this corner and the loudest story in pontoons: founded in 2017 in Bristol, Indiana by Bill Fenech, one of Bennington's co-founders, bought by Winnebago in 2021, and grown at a pace the legacy yards spent decades on. The Aria is its entry line, launched for 2023 — and the pontoon press's verdict on it was unusually warm for a value series. Pontoon & Deck Boat Magazine's test called the Aria high-quality, well-built and loaded with features, and the loading is real: a power bimini with helm controls comes standard on a boat in this price class, which nobody else was doing. With Mercury's 150 the model runs into the mid-30s and gets to 20 mph in under five seconds.

The ask deserves the same scrutiny as any outlier. Nationally, Aria 22QCs list from about $30,000 up past $85,000 depending on year and power, with the average near $68,000 — this boat sits at the very bottom of that band. The likely explanations are ordinary: a smaller engine than the test-boat 150, a base spec, or the third one, which is the address. This is a San Diego boat, and Southern California pontoons live in salt or brackish water more often than the brand's Indiana lakes ever intended. Aluminum logs tolerate salt with care and punish neglect; the survey should read the anodes, the lower unit, and the underside of the logs like a coroner. Ask whether it was slipped or trailered, and whether the washdown happened after every run.

The case against the brand itself is thinner but real: seven years of history is not thirty, early owners logged complaints about seat cushioning and stitching, and the first bimini design wanted a front support tube it did not have. Owners also consistently report the company stepping over slow dealers to fix things — a young brand still acting hungry. Both sides considered, the question is whether you pay the same money for age or youth.
