A 2013 Gemini Legacy 35 at Green Cove Springs, Florida, asking $139,990 through All Florida Yacht Sales. The Legacy was the Gemini reinvented — drawn by the Marlow-Hunter design team with Tony Smith, whose 105Mc sold in four figures, and built in Florida from late 2012. The signature number survived: 13.98 ft of beam on 35.33 ft of hull, narrow enough for a monohull slip at a monohull rate. Under it, most things changed: twin 15 hp Yanmars for the old centreline diesel and its swivelling leg, sugar-scoop transoms, a square-top main, fixed keels where the 105Mc had pivoting boards.

Two things plainly. Those fixed keels cost the line its trick — the 105Mc floated in eighteen inches, the Legacy draws 2 ft 10 in — and the design's record is coastal cruising, not ocean passages. And with no second Legacy 35 in front of us and no condition or engine-hours detail in the file, $139,990 is an asking price, not a checked one.

Against the cats below, the trade is legible. This is much the youngest hull of the three and the shortest; the boats near its money are 1990s and mid-2000s cruisers of 36 to 41 ft. You buy systems life and pay for it in feet — catamaran money under $200k.
