Our niches

Trailerable trimarans Boats that fold to road-legal width and tow behind the family car — every trailerable trimaran on the market with a verified file. The folded beam is from the design's own specification, not the seller's optimism. Bluewater sailboats Boats built to cross oceans, on the used market right now — trimarans, catamarans and monohulls that carry an ocean-crossing pedigree, verified by Scout. Racing monohulls Real race boats a private buyer can own — one-designs, Class40s and the cruiser-racers built on their bones, each with a verified file. The lane our racing study reads from. Folding trimarans that can cross an ocean The rarest combination in sailing: boats that fold for the road and carry a genuine ocean pedigree. Two yards have proven it can be done; their boats hold value accordingly. Charter-size catamarans 40–46 ft The size the charter industry standardized on — four cabins, level sailing, and the world's deepest used-cat market when the contract ends. Every file verified. Catamarans under $200k The catamarans a private buyer can actually reach — every one under two hundred thousand dollars, with a verified file. Four yards account for most of what is out there at this money, and they are not the four you see in the charter brochures. Catamarans under $100k The answer to the most-asked catamaran question there is. Under a hundred thousand the market is classic British yards, designer-drawn one-offs and the narrow-beam American Geminis — older, smaller, and genuinely reachable, every one with a verified file.
Cabin cruisers under $50k The most boat most families will ever own — galley, head, berths and a cockpit, at car money. The median asks $29,900 at twenty-nine feet; the maintenance history is the real purchase, and every file here is verified.
Center consoles under $100k The boat American saltwater fishing standardized on, in the band where the real market lives — median $58,422 at twenty-two feet. The service folder prices this shelf: documented hours beat garage-queen mystery every time.
Bowriders under $50k The volume centre of American boating: the open-bow runabout that tows the tube and comes home on its trailer. Median $29,900 at twenty-two feet — and on this shelf a newer 21-footer beats an older 26 every time.
Pontoons under $50k The most boat per dollar on any water: a fenced porch that floats, seats the whole family and still tows a tube. This money buys clean recent hulls from the big pontoon yards — the spread below is about layout and power, not age.
Motoryachts $50k–$200k Forty feet of accommodation for the price of a small apartment — aft-cabin cruisers, trawlers and express yachts from the decades when builders still fitted two staterooms. The money question here is upkeep, and every file below says what to check first.
Wake & ski boats under $100k The tow boat behind the family wakeboard habit, from ski-era inboards to ballasted surf hulls. Depreciation does the buyer a favor in this lane: last decade's flagship wave for a third of its launch price, hours and gelcoat told honestly.
Trimarans under $100k Where the trimaran stops being an exotic and becomes a decision: 330 boats worldwide, median $38,900 at twenty-seven feet — wind-speed sailing for less than the average used bowrider, every file verified.
Liveaboard sailboats From thirty-four feet, and for a lot less than rent: every sailboat that clears the liveaboard bar, verified. Median $89,000 at forty feet — monohulls spend it on an aft stateroom, catamarans on floor area and light.
Monohulls under $100k The deepest water in the used-boat market — thirty years of Beneteau, Hunter and Catalina production cruisers, laid out as a ladder from the eighties project to the mid-2000s deck saloon, so you can see what each rung of the budget buys. Bluewater trimarans Trimarans with an offshore pedigree in the design itself — Category A hulls from 28 feet up, folding and fixed, from the small Danish boats that punch far above their length to the big French cruising trimarans. Cruising sailboats under $50k Real cruising boats under fifty thousand dollars, every file verified. Today the shelf is led by folding trimarans — the boats whose files verify first — with the classic monohull cruisers joining as theirs complete.
